2016 Toyota Tacoma Oil Leak (Drivers side Valve Cover)

    If you notice your 2016 Toyota Tacoma with an oil leak on the drivers side valve cover gasket (cam sensor bolt) area, pull the valve cover and #2 cam cap. Inspect it for a porous casting...

    I just noticed this on my 2016 TRD sport last night and have been looking everywhere for an answer. How bad can this be? Does the engine need internals replaced? Thanks!

    Alex, thanks for the reply. I just one of these last week but didn't take any pictures. What we are replacing is the camshaft tower that has the cam caps, these are what is causing the oil leak as seen in the pictures above. Here is a picture of what a similar one looks like.....
