Hi, I have 2008 model Toyota Camry, I heard about the extended warranty for the melting Dash board, how can I replace the sticky Dashboard??? what is the process and where should I contact?? am from India.

Tim, thanks for taking the time to post your experience and am sorry to hear that it hasn't been a good one. Maybe, if you still want too, you can open a case with Toyota to see if they would be willing to expedite the needed dash to your Dealer and get this fixed. You can open a case by contacting them here. I know you are upset about how long you've waited but just wanted to put this out to you as an option. Thanks again for sharing your story.After being told our dash would be in dealer stock back in March '16 we're to the point of moving on. Toyota made over $18 BILLION in FY'15 and can't supply a dash? A supply chain failure is no excuse for a customer service failure, as updates from them have been non-existent. Our first and last Toyota has been purchased.
My 03 4Runner's dash is also sticky and cracking. I just called my local dealer and they said my vehicle did not qualify for said recall... I then called Toyota directly and it actually does qualify. They (Toyota) are contacting the dealer directly and requesting them to call me to schedule an appointment to inspect my dash. Once the deem it "defective" they will order the new dash. I recommend everyone to call Toyota directly as your dealer may not be giving you valid information.

Mark, LoneMule is correct. Any recall or warranty extension like this is for the vehicle itself regardless of who owns the car or how many times its been sold. Even a Toyota Dealer Customer Shuttle van would qualify.I was planning on purchasing a used 2007 or 2008 Solara.

7 months is long enough to wait for this dash to come in. I have seen many people sell/trade their vehicle in before they get their dash in. We just find the next available customer in line and offer them to come in and get it replaced. I would suggest to call Toyota and open a case, then have a three way call between Toyota, you and the Dealer to see whats taking so long.Is this usual & customary, or should I be "escalating"?

I would like to ask these questions of anyone who has had their dashboard replaced: were you required to pay for the repair out-of-pocket, then apply to Toyota for re-imbursment?? If so, were you ever reimbursed?
According to the warranty extension the Primary Coverage offers warranty enhancement described herein for all owners of covered vehicles until May 31, 2017, regardless of mileage or date of first use of the vehicle. A case number would be from Toyota if you called and made a complaint. They would give you a case number so everyone (you, Toyota and the Dealer) could reference. A mailed letter was sent to every Toyota Owner that was effected by this cracking dash issue.I will call my local Toyota dealer today is their a number for this case for the dashboard cracking I seen that some people received letters ....i will try today tuesday Dec 6 ,2016
