I have a 2014 rav with the entune Plus (version DU.35.08). I have 35.5k miles and asked my dealer to update to the latest firmware under warranty. They insist that it's running the latest.
Do I need to pay for the update or go to a different dealer?

After showing the dealer the TSB, they "found" the update and applied it. Thanks!

Thanks for all of this info. I just paid the Guelph Ontario Canada $75 for a firmware update for my 2013 Venza with Navigation audio system. They told me that I already had the latest version and that it worked OK for them when they tested it. They charged me $75 anyway. After finding this thread, loading up my usb stick with version 5.2, which is listed as for the 2013 Venza, stuck it in my sound system, the screen popped up and asked me if I want to go ahead and update my version 3.1 to 5.2, Yes or No? I chose No, for now.

Needless to say, I'm going back tomorrow to get them to either refund my money or update the firmware, so if they brick it, its on them not me. Thoughts?

what was the outcome?

just wondering if any updates have been released since this was posted. I have a 2016 Camry with the entune audio system (no nav or apps). I just checked and the current software is UU.11.06.

The reason I am asking is that very often, my bluetooth will drop or when I use siri hands free, it will trigger siri and then drop the bluetooth.

the problem is intermittent so its been hard to troubleshoot. I was hoping there would be a software update which would help.

There was a service update about this. No fix will be issued because its a probem with the phone nd not the car by their determintion.

Does any know if the updated software will allow you to calibrate the touch screen?

I have a 2014 RAV4 XLE and the Entune system has been in a boot loop since yesterday morning. I have tried restarting, hard reset via the power/volume button, turning off my phone and disconnecting the battery for 4 hours with no luck. The screen remains unresponsive and in the boot loop. As near as I can tell, this isn't a rare issue. Do anyone know if the files available through the linked techinfo site would help fix that problem? I worry that with an unresponsive screen I won't be able to start an update. It seems I need something that will override the head unit's reboot and force it to do a clean install.

The update for your audio unit will not fix this concern (you wouldn't be able to perform it anyway). You need a new audio unit unfortunately. :(

Not the answer I was hoping for, but it is still appreciated. It is somewhat mind boggling that Toyota would build (or contract with someone who would build) what is essentially a computer without a recovery mode. At least I now know what to look for in aftermarket units.

By chance did the audio unit stop working after the battery died, jumped or was replaced? In my research to find a fix for mine, that seems to be a common occurrence.

I have a 2014 Rav4 XLE last week my audio unit stopped working. I have the screen I have seen on some post on the web were it is trying to rebot. Called the Toyota number I found 800-331-4331 they told me there was no update I could download would have to take to dealership. So that means money mines out of warranty.

Hi Lewis,

1. This site would be SO MUCH better if you provided information on what the most current software is available.

Example: you have selected 2016 Toyota RAV4. The current software is CU.22.04

I don’t care how you show it but how do I know if I need an update when you haven’t told me the current software so I can compare with my car? It’s common sense.

2. I own a 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid yet, you only have a option for 2017. There should be an option for 2016 and 2018.

Please fix to add my Year then TELL me what my current software should be and you’ll have a useful website.

Thank you.

Toyota is now providing Entune Updates via Download for Free. See the 2 Red colored links below to Update your system..
The software portal was designed to provide Toyota customers with the latest Entune App Suite software version for their vehicle’s Multimedia system. Provide your vehicle information above and see if there is an available update for your vehicle. If available, using a USB drive, customers will be able to download the update and then install in their vehicle.

2. FREE Toyota Multimedia and Audio System Updates for Entune from Toyota

If you experience your Toyota Audio unit freezing, rebooting or the controls (knobs and touch screen) becoming unresponsive to your inputs, you will want to check with your Toyota Dealer and see if you have the latest Firmware installed in your Entune System. Here is a quick video showing an issue like this...

Toyota has let vehicle Owners in the past update their Audio Unit with the latest firmware via a USB Drive. Here is one such Owner who took the time to share his experience...

You can sign up for and manage your Enutne Account here...

The update needed will vary based on the Audio Installed in your Toyota vehicle. Here is a list of the most up to date firmware versions...

Hey folks! First time poster here. I recently updated my 2017 Toyota Camry's Entune unit. It is Entune Audio(without Navigation), so it doesn't have an apps button. I utilized a USB to perform the update because for some reason the Entune app wouldn't work for me.

My main issue is that after the update procedure was completed, the OS version is still the same. Is this normal? I would've assumed it would have incremented in version.

Here is a screenshot of the OS version prior to the update:

And here is a screenshot post-update:

As you can see, the Operating System version is still the same. Is this normal? If not, is there any way I can force the update onto the unit?

Thanks!

Just joined this Forum and can add some info:
1st: Toyota had a MANDITORY update that showed up on my screen last Friday (Jun 1, 2018) and I allowed it to install WHILE I WAS DRIVING. Found out later that is not recommended.

2nd: Navigation was not functioning properly with directions being cut off at the end. Also voice recognition stopped working.

3rd: Located the free download and had trouble installing by following directions. From my experience with PC's I tried first plugging in the flash drive and then starting my car (2016 Camry XLE). Worked like a charm as the car's computer booted up from the flash drive. Corrected the Navigation problems showing update (see pix).

4th: Problem with Speech Recognition persisted so telephone the help number listed with TOYO update. Was informed that they were aware of the problem and working on it. Solution would be sent out to vehicles when solved.
