Some 2014 – 2017 model year Corolla and 2017 model year iM vehicles may exhibit a MIL “ON”
condition with Diagnostic Trouble Code P2820 present, indicating a Pressure Control
Solenoid Performance condition. The Engine Control Module (ECM) logic has been updated to prevent this condition. It also calls for replacing the CVT Transmission. Follow the Repair Procedure in TSB 0289-17 to address this condition.

Remanufactured CVT part number 30410-12160-84

This repair is covered under the Toyota Powertrain Warranty. This warranty is in effect for
60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

What does this mean? I just had my 2015 corolla with only 74k miles trnasmission stuck in low gear, with the dealership telling me the code is P2820, and wanting to charge me 5k for a used transmission. Can't I just replace the solenoid?
