2016-2018 Toyota Tacoma Vehicle Surge Between 40 and 50 mph


Some 2016 – 2018 model year Tacoma vehicles equipped with a 2GR engine and an
AC60 transmission may exhibit a surge feeling under the following conditions.

*Vehicle is traveling between 40 and 50 mph
*Transmission is in fourth or fifth gear
*During torque converter lock-up

The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE Term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has
been revised to address this condition. Follow the Repair Procedure in bulletin T-SB-0058-18 Revision 2 to address this condition.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Federal Emission Warranty. This warranty is in effect for
96 months or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
